In Forspoken players control Frey, a young girl who will have to save the magical kingdom of Athia, along with her talking bracelet, from some fearsome witches who want to subjugate all the inhabitants of the kingdom. This game is the first big release from Square Enix in this new year, and for many will serve as a juicy appetizer before the release of Final Fantasy 16 in June, but some PC users have been left wondering if they will be able to play the game at all following the reveal of its system requirements.

Forspoken’s New Generation Release
Currently, there is a Forspoken demo on PS Store, which all PS5 gamers can enjoy. A few days ago the size and preload date of Forspoken on PS5 were revealed. The title from Luminous Productions will occupy around 87GB on the SSD space of Sony’s console. Now, the developer has revealed the requirements for Forspoken on PC, and it’s not going to please many users.
For starters, its size is almost double that on PlayStation 5. Forspoken needs about 150GB of free space, which is almost double what it took up on PS5. It was very likely that Forspoken’s requirements were high, since it isn’t coming out on PS4 and it also uses the powerful Luminous engine. But most gamers agree that they are a bit excessive.
To play at 4K and 60 fps, the title needs an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, which in Nvidia terms is equivalent to a GeForce RTX 4080. In terms of CPU, Forspoken needs an Intel i7 12700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5800X processor to run at the mentioned graphics standards. And in terms of RAM, the minimum is 16GB.

On the bright side, Forspoken has also confirmed that there will be support for DirectX 12 Ultimate, as well as support for 7.1 audio and use of DualShock 4 or keyboard and mouse. Players will be able to choose various graphics options such as support for 32:9 in ultra-panoramic screens and the possibility of activating HDR. In addition, Luminous Productions has announced a new patch for the Forspoken demo on PS5, adding button remapping, fixing graphical bugs, text size errors, and even bugs affecting enemies. Though this is all good news, many players are having a difficult time coming to terms with the game’s PC requirements.
Forspoken launches on January 24 for PC and PS5.
