The sequel to the acclaimed narrative-driven game by developer Naughty Dog has generated plenty of anticipation. This is in part to the suspense-filled trailers for The Last of Us 2 but also because it is the follow up to what many players regard as one of the best games of a generation. The filmmaker described the new game as “One of the most well told stories in the history of storytelling” and went on to praise different components including the acting, the artists who created the visuals, and the narrative. Many fans of Trachtenberg may be interested in the game after this incredibly high praise and it seems that despite leaks that made players question the quality of The Last of Us 2, the game is still delivering an unparalleled experience.
It appears that despite some concerns about The Last of Us 2 it has managed to deliver a compelling experience. Many players are likely still avoiding spoilers and attempting to experience its narrative for the first time when they get their hands on the game. With that said, fans will likely be assured by the pride, Naughty Dog has in The Last of Us 2 as well as the positive reviews the game is getting.
It will be interesting to see what fans think of The Last of Us 2, particularly after the director of the game, Neil Druckmann, claimed that it would be divisive. With that in mind, while some players may adore the game and the development of the protagonist Ellie, others may wish that the game had taken a different direction.
