RWBY animator Dillon Gu shared their Genshin Impact animation, titled “Nameless Road,” with Yelan and Dehya stealing a car from the Fatui. The animation shows off some fierce fight scenes reminiscent of those from the creator’s past work, including Dehya riding her claymore like a surfboard across the sand. The animation also features several references to Yelan’s in-game abilities, using her Charged Attack animation to shoot out of the car’s window and referencing her Elemental Burst. The trailer also features full voice acting with Emma Breezy playing Yelan and Diana Garnet as Dehya.
The humorous and action-packed animation also features several smaller references to Genshin Impact sprinkled throughout. The end of the animation reveals the car theft was part of a mission assigned to Yelan by Liyue’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, bringing the keys back to Ningguang in the video’s conclusion. Dehya’s past as a mercenary is also referenced multiple times with Yelan apparently hiring the Pyro Claymore user for the mission.
Yelan and Dehya’s starring role in the animation come as both characters are reportedly set to feature in Genshin Impact in the near future. Yelan was leaked to be returning in a re-run banner during the upcoming Version 3.4, her first re-run since her release in Version 2.7. While Dehya is not currently playable in Genshin Impact, she features heavily in the Sumeru region’s story and is rumored to be coming in Version 3.5. Dillon Gu’s animation comes at a perfect time for both Yelan and Dehya fans to see both of them in Genshin Impact soon.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
