The Game Awards have made several big announcements in preparation for the big night. Among the reveals was that former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime would be returning to the show. This news came via a recent tweet from Geoff Keighley. In the message, the host of the event explained that Reggie would be appearing as a presenter. “It wouldn’t be The Game Awards without him!” he said.
This news is obviously exciting for Nintendo fans, given his famous run as the president of Nintendo of America. However, while he might be associated with Nintendo due to his time working with the company, he has branched out following his retirement in 2019. Recently, Reggie hosted a panel that discussed the history of Xbox with several influential executives from the company. Furthermore, he has already appeared in The Game Awards multiple times following his departure from Nintendo.
Besides Reggie, another influential person was announced as a presenter for The Game Awards. Recently, it was revealed that Simu Liu, the star of Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, was scheduled to appear during the event. While many fans might not associate the Marvel actor with the video game industry, he grew up playing Halo on Xbox. In addition, numerous famous actors and actresses have been presenters at previous shows, such as Tom Holland and Brie Larson.
It will be interesting to see what other news is revealed before The Games Awards. With many announcements to be made and awards to be given out, it should be an exciting time for fans of the gaming industry. Fortunately, gamers don’t have long to wait for the event, as it is scheduled to begin on December 9.
